Cri De Coeur

18" x 24" watercolor, ink, and gold leaf on board. This is an 18” x 24” watercolor called cri de coeur. Cri de Coeur is a French expression that translates to cry from the heart or cry of passion. This artwork is about the passion that I see in the musicians who I paint, the passion I have for my art, and the passion in the vibrant colors that I love to use. I’ve mounted the watercolor paper on a board to create this artwork. I love the smooth, flat, consistent color that I can get from a mounted paper and I also love that the piece can be varnished and displayed without a frame or glass on the cradled board.
